Still Lives and Smoking Jackets
by Noel Coward
Still Lives and Smoking Jackets: An Evening with Noel Coward is co-directed by Claire Barber and Fiona Wilkie and promises to be an exciting and innovative evening combining theatre, music and montage.
Still Life is the little-performed play on which the classic film Brief Encounter is based. Set in a railway station refreshment room, it follows the doomed relationship of Laura and Alec as they meet on five Thursdays over a period of 12 months. In addition to this poignant piece of theatre, the audience will enjoy a selection of Coward's most memorable songs as well as some lesser-known gems.
