The Ash Girl

by Timberlake Wertenbaker

When an invitation to The Ball arrives at the Ash girl's house from Prince Amir, she can't bring herself to believe that she, like her sisters, can go. With her mother dead and her father away, she must learn to fight the monsters that have slithered and insinuated their way into her heart and mind.

In this wondrous drama the story of Cinderella becomes darker and Timberlake Wertenbaker explores the beauty and terror inherent in growing up.

The Day Of The Robbery

a new play by Matthew Wilkie

Becca wants to go out for a walk.
Tallulah wants to make a phone call.
Richard always has to have the last word.
Keith just wants a little time.
Geraldine just wants to be heard.
And Frank -
Frank is confused.

'The Day Of The Robbery' explores the lives of six very different people across three days ending in tragedy. Sometimes sad, often funny, there is something for everyone in this new play by Matthew Wilkie.

Matthew has written many new plays for both amateur and professional theatre, collecting a number of awards for his work with Theatre64 at the annual Woking Drama Festival. Matthew is currently working on a new commission for BBC radio.

Please note, 'The Day Of The Robbery' contains themes and language of an adult nature. Running at approximately one hour with no interval, it will be followed by a complimentary drink and a chance to meet the cast.

Woking Drama Festival Success!

Theatre64 did well again in this year's Woking Drama Festival when Matthew Wilkie scooped the Best Original Play award for 'The Day Of The Robbery'. Not content with that Nick Felgate was nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Erin Quillian was nominated for Best Youth Actor.

Still Lives and Smoking Jackets: An Evening with Noel Coward promises to be an exciting and innovative evening combining theatre, music and montage.

Still Life is the little-performed play on which the classic film Brief Encounter is based. Set in a railway station refreshment room, it follows the doomed relationship of Laura and Alec as they meet on five Thursdays over a period of 12 months. In addition to this poignant piece of theatre, the audience will enjoy a selection of Coward's most memorable songs as well as some lesser-known gems.

An Inspector Calls

by J. B. Priestley

The Birling family are spending a happy evening celebrating the engagement of Sheila Birling to Gerald Croft - a marriage that will result in the merging of two successful local businesses. Yet, just when everything seems to be going so well, they receive a surprise visit from an Inspector Goole who is investigating the suicide of a young girl.

A scathing critique of the hypocrisies of Victorian/Edwardian English society, this is one of Priestley’s best known works for the stage and was hailed as one of the classics of mid-20th century.
