We have lost the true meaning of Hallowe'en? Fed up with the crass-commercialism and falseness of the celebration in recent years? Haven't had a good fright lately?!

Then prepare to be horrified by Theatre 64's production of Bram Stoker's Dracula!

The play, produced in arrangement with Joseph Weinberger Limited, was adapted by Jane Thornton and her husband, John Godber, from Bram Stoker's classic Gothic novel, perhaps the most chilling story of all time. "It is one of the most faithful adaptations there is", says director, local teacher Mike Hills.

"It includes all the suspense and horror of the original Victorian book about the vampire, Count Dracula. But the two playwrights, better known for the comedy Shakers and Bouncers, have brought it right up to date with a modern theatrical telling."

The adaptation includes the full story, from the very first meeting of Jonathan Harker with the Count in his castle in Transylvania, through the Count's arrival in England in the midst of a fierce storm (at Whitby), to the race led by Professor Van Helsing to destroy the Count before the lustful power of the nosferatu finally overcomes his latest victim. Brought to the stage by the Yateley drama group that this year brought you the critically-acclaimed productions of 'A Christmas Carol', 'The Tempest' and 'A Showcase Of New Plays' by local authors, the production is certain to make the audience's hair stand on end in sheer horror and excitement.

Performances are held at the Main Hall, Yateley Centre, Yateley, at 8.00pm, Wednesday 30th October until Saturday 2nd November.

Tickets are 6.50 for adults, 4.50 for concessions. There is a further discount of 10% for pre-payment.
