Jekyll and Hyde
by Robert Louis Stevenson, adapted by Leonard H. Caddy
Dr Jekyll, a physician conscious of the duality in his nature, and fascinated by the idea of the advantage that would arise if these elements could be clothed in different personalities, discovers a drug by means of which he can create a separate personality that absorbs all his evil instincts.
Absorbed in his work and delighted with his apparent success, Jekyll revisits his darker side more and more often until he realises he is no longer the one in control...
"Jekyll and Hyde" marks the finalé of Theatre 64's 40th anniversary season. It follows on from the successes of Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion" and Dennis Potter's "Blue Remembered Hills" that started the year with a bang.
The show is perfectly timed to fall during the week of Hallowe'en, from 27th to 30th October.
