The Importance of Being Earnest

by Oscar Wilde

A magnificent send-up of elite Victorian society focussing on their ideals of marriage and morality. The play is full of Wildean wit, and contains some of his most famous lines. It pokes fun at the aristocracy, the literary world, English manners and customs, marriage, women, men, love, religion... the list is endless. When it was first performed in 1895 it was received with hilarity by the very people that is was satirising. Its popularity has not waned and it remains one of the most well-loved comedies of manners.

Performances are held at the Main Hall, Yateley Centre, Yateley, at 8.00pm, Wednesday 28th May until Saturday 31st May.

Tickets are £6.50 for adults, £4.50 for concessions. There is a further discount of 10% for pre-payment. Tickets are available from the box office on (01252) 409509 or in person from Travallen Travel, Reading Road, Yateley.
